Flaming Dragons
Our custom cornhole sets are regulation size 2'x4'. They are one of a kind. No two are ever identical due to the nature of resin. The color design is created with liquid resin that is colored with the different chosen pigment, pastes, dyes, or spray paints. The tinted resin is then poured onto the boards in different ways and manipulated to create the desired design. The resin stays liquid for about 45-60 minutes. Resin is self leveling and during that time it is continuing to move while it tries to self level. We work our designs right up to the point of the resin starting to "tack up", giving our pieces incredible depth. We can mimic almost any exotic stone, beach theme, or abstract design in your color choices.
These sets are hand made. We cut the tops out of 3/4" MDF and the frames are made from 1X4 lumber. The tops receive two coats of resin. The first coat is the color design and the second coat locks in and protects the color coat, giving it more depth. Once the resin is cured the tops receive a final coat of a 2 part polyurethane. This top coat makes them extremely scratch resistant, adds to the UV protection, and water resistance. The backside of the tops receive two coats of a roll on waterproofing membrane.
We use a Japanese wood burning technique called Shou Sugi Ban." Shou Sugi Ban (or Yakisugi, as it is known in Japan) means “burned cedar.” It is an ingenious 18th-century Japanese wood burning technique that creates an intriguing charred appearance that highlights natural wood veining, creates textural interest, and varies in appearance according to how much fire is applied and which type of wood is used. While it might seem counterintuitive, the act of charring wood doesn’t make it structurally weaker, but magically has the opposite effect. Burning the surface of the wood under controlled conditions fortifies and protects the wood against future damage, making it an excellent preservation technique."
Our sets are finished off with light sets that are attached to the frame and around the underside of the hole. A bag set is also included that complements the board colors.
Due to the weight of these they are pickup or local delivery only.
